The landscape has always been for me an object of contemplation, a parenthesis open outside of everyday life. From my first paintings at the age of fifteen, I naturally drew my inspiration from it. A graduate of the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts, my studies confronted me with other practices of the plastic arts, but did not distract me from my passion for work on the motif. On the contrary, it got stronger on the banks of the Loire towards Orléans where I returned the weekend, to my parents, to capture the endless games of the elements between sky and river. Twenty years ago I chose to live and paint in Auvergne, not far from Puy-en-Velay, for the beauty of its landscapes contrasted between softness and harshness. From my studio which overlooks the Loire gorges, I contemplate the grandiose landscape shaped by volcanoes every day. My brushes tirelessly explore it like a walk, renewed daily by light, climate change and the seasons.
