My name is Cécile Pons. I was born in 1972.
After an early childhood cradled by nature, then a long period in boarding school, I began my studies in Paris. I then returned to my home village and worked there for 17 years as a pharmacist.
Since 2011 I paint under the pseudonym NïN, obeying a need to express emotions, traumas, hopes and obsessions. And probably to release and unleash a deeply rooted artistic part buried deep inside of me.
In March 2018, I decided to put an end to my work as an apothecary. Since then, in my farm in the countryside, I have devoted myself entirely to oil painting, chosen for its fluidity and multiple possibilities. Its original function as an outlet has given way to a real passion and the desire to create, always renewed.
My painting is dreamlike, fantastic, colourful, intertwining body and nature in a slippery, tortuous, sometimes dangerous ballet.
Nature becomes organic, woman becomes a tree, man becomes a rock.
Bellies, gentle hills, grassy expanses, sharp cliffs, faults...
Everything flows and comes together in the thread of life.
Utopian harmony between Nature and Humanity.
