My artist name is Crann Piorr’Art. I’m a painter since 1989, I define myself first as a colorist as the choice of colors is paramount in the design of my works. Very quickly, I started in abstract painting because it allowed me to express my emotions without code, limits and barriers border. It’s this freedom that I like. And if technique is important, I prefer to let emotion appear in my paintings rather than demonstrate any technical prowess. My many trips to Africa, Asia or America have certainly influenced me in my painting and my color palette. But long before, I already had this attraction for bright and warm colors that I like to contrast with intense blues. I mainly use oil paint because it is the medium that suits me best, it may also be because it is with this that I acquired the technique during my lessons while first in Belgium in Dendermonde when I lived in Ghent at the time then in the Fine Arts workshop in the city of Paris when I moved to Paris intra murals. If after these lessons, I started by painting figurative by representing the same imaginary city from different angles and by distorting its perspectives (under the Panic in the city collection, once I have acquired enough maturity and self-confidence, I did not hesitate to take the step towards abstract painting, while sometimes incorporating surreal symbols. My Stains & Prints collection started in 2013 on the principle of creating tasks embellished with human or animal footprints slowly evolved towards the representation of imaginary worlds in movement full of volutes, fluids and explosions. Then, wishing to free me from the physical borders of the table, I started to create triptychs or tables on 3 dimensions. Colournoscopy project, I took this desire to the extreme by creating a polyptych with 12 tables of which the last table is connected to the first. I also tried, through this collection, to link pictorial art with music.

My influences:

They are multiple and are enriched every day as new artists are discovered in this vast world of art, whether known or not. We could mention a few names like Joan Mitchell or Jean Paul Riopelle who made me want to make this Colournoscopy fresco, but that would be to forget all the others, all those who have done what art is today since Bruegel, Van Eyck and Rembrandt via Chagall, Otto Dix, Hans Hartung and many other artists of yesterday and today.

SWEEP EMOTION is a painting that is part of the COLOURNOSCOPY polyptych. There is however a full-fledged painting that can be exhibited alone.

COLOURNOSCOPY is a polyptych made up of 12 tables linked graphically and pictorially between them (each table being the continuation of the preceding one) and the continuation can be started by any table since the last is connected to the first.

Sweep Emotion is a painting of the polyptych that is placed between Space Junky and Papa was a flying stone. I made this painting with the music of Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion in mind. The planets are swallowed by a strange device that displays the Just Stains painting. A nod to my other collection of Stains and Prints paintings.
