Berriblue is a Polish / Irish artist & designer based in Porto, Portugal. Well known for her street art, Berriblue is also a successful studio artist. She has had six solo shows to date, and her work is held in collections in Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Mozambique, and Los Angeles.
This largely subconscious piece presents an interesting glimpse into artist's makings.
The flowers and wild strawberries hold a personal, sentimental importance,
evocative of childhood. The skull is representative of the artist's baby brother, who
was lost in utero.
Motyl was exhibited in "The Horse and The Fish", BerriBlue's fifth solo show, in 2019.
The exhibition explored the concept of virtual heritage, the aesthetics of the artist's childhood and its effects on her work.
